Wow, this piece is truly special. At first glance it appears to be an ordinary wire photograph. It certainly is not. This is the original mug shot of Oswald from the files of the New Orleans Police Department Bureau of Identification. This is from when Oswald was arrested in New Orleans for distributing communist literature. This actual photo was requested by the San Francisco Examiner’s editor and sent along for use in publishing. The verso paper caption (actually a letter to the “Editor” from the New Orleans Police) even goes to say that “This photo does not appear in the Warren Report." It is stamp dated on the verso “Received Examiner Reference Library December 28, 1966.” EX-MT. 5x7.25”.
