Lot 1169: Joe Medwick Game Worn Giants Pants
ITEM DESCRIPTION
It was in Cardinal red and white that Joe Medwick built the bulk of his Hall of Fame reputation and he will always be remembered as the heart of the '34 Championship team. His final season, though, was spent patrolling the green fields of the Polo Grounds, where he donned a Giants uniform, part of which included this scarce specimen. Offered is a rarely seen piece of game used material from the man they called "Muscles", his game cream colored flannel pants with red and blue piping. All manufacturer's tagging has been removed and inside the waistband is sewn a felt patch, chain-stitched, "Medwick" in red thread. Outstanding use can be found throughout in the form of blood stains, field markings, and four minor holes. Obtained from the same collection which the Mel Ott jersey in this auction came from.
