A superb 3-year stretch for this game used H&B S222 bat of the great Cincinnati Red’s catcher Johnny Bench, as 1973 to 1975 had this legend in 3 All-Star games, receiving 3 Gold Glove awards, participating in 2 National League Playoffs, and most importantly, winning the World Series. Not bad action for this tough piece of lumber, it shows great use, with ball, seam and spike marks. Aged #5 on knob in red marker. Bat measures 36” and is uncracked; pine tar remains on handle, and is autographed in bold blue marker next to bat’s engraved sig, “Johnny Bench.” A fine example of a Bench gamer.
