In the midst of Bruce Springsteen’s Steel Mill era, this black & light blue concert poster is a melancholic call to “End your summer at the outdoor concert with Steel Mill”. Mounted (lightly affixed) on vintage 1970’s black paper, this extremely rare poster (11 x 14 ½”) is from the collection of a famed Springsteen insider. The September 11, 1970, five-hour show (at the Clearwater Swim Club in the Atlantic Highlands, with opening bands Sid’s Farm, Task and Jeannie Clark) ended prematurely in mayhem with cops making drug busts in the audience - oh, how nostalgic. Certainly noteworthy, this was the night that Steel Mill had taken on a new vocalist, Robbin Thompson, over the previous lead pipes of Bruce. In retrospect, that was quite a coup.
