Dave Parker's contribution to the 1989 World Champion Oakland A's is celebrated here with this official American League award, presented to Parker for being the designated hitter of the year of 1989. The trophy has felt on the bottom, and is flat with a silver metal plaque on a dark base which reads "American League, Designated Hitter Award, Dave Parker, Oakland Athletics, 1989". Sticking up vertically from what is primarily a horizontal presentation are two gold circles melded (in a shape much like the Mastercard logo), the left circle containing the form of a player at bat, and on the right circle the American League logo. Only minimal wear on the square base, this rates NRMT. A fine piece for Parker fans. Originally purchased right from Dave Parker.
