Bruce had never ventured away from his Jersey roots to perform until June 1, 1969, when he laid it down at Monroe Park in Richmond, Virginia. That free concert, with James Cotton and Brother Duck, kicked off his touring career. The scarce Child poster for that event, along with the poster for their appearance at the Surf Club in Sea Bright, New Jersey that summer, complete a nice duo. Child would soon become Steelmill.
