Lot 1055: 1969 Child "It's A Birthquake" Pandemonium / Shore Motel Poster
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
Rare Child "It's A Birthquake" poster, announcing a July 15, 1969 concert at fabled Pandemonium, Rt. 35, at the Shore Motel. This poster is doubly rare, first because of its connection with the Pandemonium, which had only recently opened and would soon achieve legendary status, and secondly because in November, the band learned of another group with the same name on Long Island, and decided to become "Steel Mill". The 16" x 22 3/4" poster features a great promo shot of the band in front of an image of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and is printed in black on heavy off-white paper, and nicely mounted on heavy cardboard. Pinholes appear in each corner, and a bit of surface abrasion will be found in the lower right corner. Two small bits of ink are missing in the "h" of "birthquake", but the poster is very boldy struck, and overall condition rates an EX.
