A Chicago mainstay from 1920 to 1959, the Cardinals were formed in 1898 and became charter members of the NFL when it was founded in 1920. The Cardinals won NFL Championships in 1925 and 1947, but survived many desperate seasons in between, with only (very) occasional victories over their North Side rivals, the Bears. We offer a vintage late 1930's - 1940's set, consisting of a game-worn helmet and jersey. The jersey, a size 40 in Cardinal red, has #57 sewn on front and back in white, and an outside tag from Sands Knitting Mill, Chicago. The leather helmet is a MacGregor Model H622 in black, with an absolutely great game-worn appearance. An unusual opportunity to acquire two vintage items from the oldest team still playing professionally.
