Elvis before he was Elvis ! Not the "mostly likely to" change the face of pop music; rather the most likely to do electrical work on your house. Yes, the first "major" mentioned next to "Presley, Elvis Aron" was "shop". Shop ?! Other majors and activities were History, English, R.O.T.C., and the biology club (some of his female fans would've liked to have been a member of that last one). Elvis Presley's High School Yearbook from Humes H.S. in Memphis, Tennessee, is a tan, 7 1/2 x 10 1/2, 112 page (each page number is spelled out) walk down memory lane. On the cover stands an illustrated Renaissance trumpeter, and below that in the color of orange, and styled in a rare yearbook cover type, "The Herald, 1953". Elvis' class photo is on page 20, and is not only noted by his handsome face, but also a rebelliously loose lock of hair falling upon his forehead. The spine is nearly non-existent and very fragile, and no longer shows any of its original veneer. The bottom right part of the cover is missing its corner, and the book has a good amount of wear, and a few stains. Still, the interior is superb, and Elvis’ portrait reminds us of how much, at one time, he was just like one of us - a high school senior.
