One of the most famous pictures of the two, from Lou Gehrig Day, shows The Sultan of Swat embracing the dying Gehrig (8-3/4 x 7-1/4"). Date stamped on back "July 04 1939" with "Babe Hugs Lou At Stadium As Ironman Breaks Down During Speech Before 60,000 On Hand" One of only three known AP originals of this cherished photograph. Exhibits creasing mainly confined to the upper left portion, above the Iron Horse's mug. Other shot shows Ruth and Gehrig with Dale Alexander and another member of the Red Sox, leaning on their bats, circa 1932 (9 x 7"). Photos are in VG condition.
