Lot 963: 1982 Mike Bossy Stanley Cup Championship Salesman Sample Ring
ITEM DESCRIPTION
One of the greatest pure snipers in the history of the game, Mike Bossy sent shivers down the spines of opposing goalies who knew that when he shot the puck it would be hard, on net, and about 6" off of the ice surface. Ring is a salesman sample of the one presented to Bossy to commemorate the Islanders winning the Cup in the 1981-82 season. Bossy's numbers that year were an almost mind-numbing 64 goals and 83 assists. Ring is a size 12 with 3 faux diamonds in the center. Around them is "1982 Stanley Cup Champions". One shank has "Bossy" above the Islanders logo which sits above his number "22." Other shank has "Islanders" over "Prince of Wales Champions." In between are three Stanley Cups honoring this third Cup victory in a row. They would go on to win again the following year.
