Lot 445: 1998 American League Baseball All-Star Ring
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
There was certainly no shortage of hits in this crowd-pleasing slugfest, won by the American League, 13-8, breaking, by one, the record for most runs in an All-Star game, set in 1954. Held in hitter-friendly Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, highlights of the game included a towering 3-run homer by Barry Bonds, and a stellar performance by MVP Roberto Alomar. It would be hard to find a finer memento of the game than this superb silver ring by Jostens. Around a central diamond on a black field, the ring is marked “Major League Baseball / All Stars”, with two smaller diamonds set at each side. The left side is marked “Colorado Rockies / All-Star Game / 1998”, and “American League” with an eagle atop a baseball circled by stars appears on the right side. The size 10 ½ ring is in NRMT condition.
