A rare style jersey here. 1977-78 Atlanta Flames road sweater of tragic figure Ed Kea here. Made by Russell Athletic, the red mesh jersey has "Kea" on plate on back, with his #19 underneath and on sleeves. Decent wear throughout, with one small repair on front. Russell XL tag in collar. Kea was born in Weesp, Holland but moved with his family to Canada when he was 4. Kea never played Junior hockey or collegiate hockey but he made it to the NHL, signing with the Flames in 1972. He spent the next five seasons playing defense for them before being dealt to St. Louis. During the 1982-83 season, while playing for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles, Kea hit his head on the ice. The incident left him handicapped. In September of 1999 Kea drowned at his family cottage. 2 LOA's.
