The most dominating pitcher of his time was also quite the Renaissance man for his era. He was a college man who sang in the glee club and belonged to a literary society. He also wrote a series of children's books. In 1936, he joined Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson as the first class of baseball Hall of Famers. This is an original (7-1/2 x 9-1/2") with the Culver stamp on the reverse. Also marked as being published in 1929. It appears that this was actually printed at the time that it was taken, in 1916. VG.
