Kennesaw Mountain Landis was baseball's first commissioner, elected to office on November 12, 1920. He helped restore public confidence in baseball following the "Black Sox" scandal of 1919 because he was granted absolute power by the owners and he wielded it. He remains one of the most important figures in the history of America's national pastime. All five photos from the renowned Culver Service do a brilliant job of capturing his intensity. Photos range in size from 4-1/2 x 5-1/2" to 5-7/8 x 7-3/4".
