Lot 1620: Howdy Doody Collection Of TV Guides (9)
Marvelous collection of Pre-TV Guide and regular TV Guides include some amazing rarities. But never underestimate how much it affected the American way of life. One of the original and easily the most popular children’s television shows in the 1950s, The Howdy Doody Show did more than entertain. It sold television sets to American parents and demonstrated the potential for advertising on television. Buffalo Bob Smith and his marionette friends owned the kids of America in the 50’s and they invited us to join them in Doodyville. This is the largest collection of television magazines with Howdy Doody on the cover ever offered. The retail price of any individual piece in this set is between $250-$1,000 but here you can get nine of them. Overall EX+ and some of them are signed by Buffalo Bob and Howdy Doody.
