This was Don Zimmer’s Cubs road jersey from 1989, when he managed the team to the NL East title. Of course, they didn’t make it to the Series, as the Cubbies were wiped out in five by Will Clark (almost by himself) and the rest of his Giants teammates. Well worn jersey has Rawlings size 44 tag in collar, with strip tag underneath which reads: “4...89...1...44”. Set 1 flag tag attached as well. Jersey has “ZIMMER” on back directly on shirt. Appears a name plate was removed and Zip’s name was added afterward. Wear on NOB matches wear on #4 to a tee. Very desirable shirt of The Gerbil’s from another seaon of discontent in the Windy City.
