In 1962, when Topps released this Civil War News issue coincident with Civil War Centennial fever, they were mastering their craft. Following the public outcry about their earlier “Mars Attacks” release, our favorite pranksters responded with this Civil War News set which seemed to be in earnest but, given the apparently historical but mostly fictitious “news” items on the backs, was very much tongue in cheek. Available in this lot are five unopened packs, each Graded Mint 9 by GAI. A Display Box in about excellent condition is included.
