ITEM DESCRIPTION

The 1958 World Series brought together the Milwaukee Braves and the New York Yankees, just like the previous year, and Milwaukee was the defending champs. Milwaukee took the first two games and appeared to be cruising to a repeat. The Yanks grabbed game 3 but fell again in game 4 putting them in a spot where it was necessary to win 3 in a row. In the first do or die gamer the Yankees crushed the Braves 7-0. The next day the Yankees evened the Series with a 4-3 ten-inning victory. The stage was set for a deciding seventh game and Don Larsen got the nod for the second straight year. Once again he only lasted three innings but as the game wore on the Yankees wore down the Braves and won it all. This 1958 Yankees program contains the vintage signatures of 26 Yankees in blue and black pen. Most are signed “To Bob” and range from 7 to 10/10. Mantle (10/10), Stengel, Houk, Crosetti, Berra, Howard, Skowron, Kubek, Bauer, Slaughter, Turley, Shantz, Larsen and Maas. Cover is worn from handling and has tape on the spine but contents are EX-MT. 8-1/2 x 11” World Champs!
