I couldn’t say where she’s comin’ from, but I just met a lady named Dinah-Moe Humm. Zappa wrote lyrics that operated on a different wavelength, but to his fans he was a god of music. On August 7, 1970, Eddie Wilson opened the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin. On New Year’s Eve, 1980, Kenneth Threadgill played the last concert. During its ten year run the Armadillo was the venue to play in Texas, hosting many local and national acts. There was a beer garden outside, and the inside was cavernous. People had to sit on the carpeted floor with the smell of beer and ashes from previous performances. Poster is ad for Zappa’s two upcoming shows of “One Last Time” on Oct. 16, 1980. Size is 11 X 17” and it is drawn in India ink.
