What a year! In a 152-game season, the Giants scored 103 victories, and the Red Sox, not to be outdone, and playing in a brand-new Fenway Park, rack up 105 wins. The Series was hotly contested, and went to eight games (one tied). In the final game at Fenway Park, the Giants were leading 2-1in the 10th inning, and then lost, largely due to a routine fly ball dropped by centerfielder Fred Snodgrass, who was never allowed to forget that moment.
