At the annual baseball meetings in 1911, both the National and American Leagues were at each other’s throats concerning alleged ticket scalping during the World Series between the Giants and A’s. The bigger story, however, took place on December 13th when the National League powers to be met at the Waldorf Astoria. For the first time in history, a woman sat in. Mrs. H.H. Britton, owner of the St. Louis Cardinals attended the entire meeting but did not vote. This historic event is recorded with two Bain News Service photos. Both in 5X7” format. A third Bain photo captures the NLer’s during their 1915 Winter Meetings. VF/EX, all credits on the verso.
