Lot 1004: 1946 National League Playoff Game Ticket Stub
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
Super rare Ebbets Field ticket stub from Game 2 of the 1946 NL playoff between the Cardinals and Dodgers. It was the first time in league history a playoff series was needed to crown the pennant winner, as both teams went 96-58 in the regular season. The Dodgers, as usual in postseason affairs, need not have even shown up, barely breathing as the Cards ripped off Game 1 4-2 and Game 2 8-4. Ticket was not for a seat but rather for a photographer’s use. Light brown stub reads “Ebbets Field”, “St. Louis-Brooklyn Playoff” and “Game 2 1946” in black, with “15” printed in red over “Photographer”. 1.25 x 3” with the left side irregular from being torn off, and is VG w/a few bits of surface loss most notably on the right edge.
