Pittsburgh Pirates star Roberto Clemente is caught in graceful hitter’s pose on the multi-colored cover of this July 3, 1967 issue of Sports Illustrated entitled “The Big Hitters Are Back in the National League”. This Latino baseball star’s elaborate signature is in blue ink next to his photo "Best Wishes, Roberto Clemente", and the issue comes with an additional LOA. The issue has minimal wear and all four corners are in good condition. There are two vintage staple holes in upper right portion, mentioned for accuracy. Stats for big hitters Bill Terry, Arky Vaughan, Stan Musial and Henry Aaron are also on the cover. In the 1960’s, no other player dominated like Clemente did and this Sports Illustrated issue captures him in his glory.
