This 1951-52 Parkhurt Hockey Card wrapper is an ingenious anomaly -- and thus a collectible of note. Seems Parkhurst actually ran out of wrappers and used uncut card sheets to pack the cards in. The underside of this particular wrapper includes sections of uncut “Parkies” for Gordie Howe, Sid “Bootnose” Abel, Leonard “Red” Kelly and Marty Pavelich, as well as a couple of other unidentified Red Wings. Geometrically cut wrapper is approx. 4 x 4.25” at its widest and longest and preserved in a lucite frame, its condition under glass being G-VG w/a splotch of paper loss on the blank outer side and the card sections VG-EX w/ a few specks.
