“Usher,” derived from the Middle English usser, means both doorkeeper and escort. As at most ballparks, those at Busch play both roles -- they escort those who’ve paid top dollar to the good seats, and keep others out. But they’re nice about it. And they’ll let you stand near the good seats without a hassle. Metal sign at the Usher’s entrance “Smile! You’re on Deck!” reminds the ushers that they are part of the face of the organization.
