Ken Boyer was one of the most popular Cardinals ever. Quiet and steady, his brilliant play at third base – where he won five Gold Gloves – was matched by his productive bat. Boyer hit over 20 homers eight times and hit .287 lifetime. His MVP season in 1964 was climaxed by his clutch performance in the World Series against the Yankees when his two homers, a grand slam in Game Four and clinching shot in Game Seven fueled a world championship.
