Plaque is engraved “Civic Center Busch Memorial Stadium” – the complete name of the stadium – and lists the members of the St. Louis Civic Center Development Corporation which oversaw the stadium project as part of a downtown redevelopment program. Today, in no small part due to Busch Stadium, the area is a thriving business center, which will be only more thriving with the opening of the new Busch Stadium. Plaque is engraved with a stylized schematic diagram of the stadium with both its baseball diamond and football gridiron configurations, and also has the names of then Mayor Raymond Tucker and his predecessor Alfonso J. Cervantes. Plaque is EX and includes the metallic backing that was sunk into the wall. Note: there were only two of these plaques affixed to the outside wall of the stadium, one will be put into the Cardinals Hall of Fame Museum.
