Lot 160: Cardinals’ “Hot Corner” Neon Sign from the Food Court

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $200.00
Winning Bid: $1,366.70
Price Realized: $1,633.21
Auction Date:11/27/2005 9:00 PM EST

No, not the one presided over by Scott Rolen. This Hot Corner refers to the Busch Stadium food court section down the third base line, where this eye-filling neon sign presided over some rapidly filling stomachs. The 45” tall and 68” wide sign is ceiling mounted, making for a very dramatic sight when lit up in its Christmas tree of colors. “Hot” becomes a fiery, incandescent blend of yellow and orange, “Corner” yellow and “Cardinals” above in, what else, red, with a snow white baseball with red seams serving as the backdrop - all surrounded by a green border. “Food Court” is at the bottom, separated by a red and yellow baseball bat and set in white against a red backdrop with a green diamond on either side. Piece is anchored to a metal frame and is fully operational with electrical wiring included. Be forewarned - the sign will make you hungry.
(Estimate $300 - $500)
