Lot 75: Don Zimmer 1996 World Series Binoculars Agreement
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
Zim was probably a bit ill advised when he tried to tackle Pedro Martinez but he knew how to handle the specs. Here we have an original two-page 1996 World Series endorsement contract for Zim to be seen on the Yankees' bench wearing the manufacturer's binoculars. He certainly was seen. The Braves accused him of using the binoculars to steal signs and the commissioner ordered him to remove them. The contract pages measure 10" X 8-1/4" and are professionally matted with an 8" X 10" color "battle helmet" photo of the beloved curmudgeon between them. The entire display measures 16" X 33". Zim's 9/10 signature is on the second page in black pen, dated October 18, 1996. It is accompanied by a LOA from Jimmy Spence of PSA/DNA.
