The Say Hey Kid’s entry to the big leagues in ’51 was eased considerably by having 2 other former Negro Leaguers already established on the Giants, Monte Irvin and Hank Thompson. The talented trio posed for this wire service 8 x 10 that season of the "Miracle on Coogan’s Bluff", when they became baseball’s 1st all African-American outfield.
