1940s vintage 8 x 10 of the most famous football photo of the era. Notre Dame’s "Four Horsemen", were dubbed by sportswriter Grantland Rice in his Oct. 19, 1924 story about the Notre Dame-Army game. The collective nickname immediately stuck and made pictures like this of Stuhldreher, Miller, Crowley and Layden in the saddle inevitable – with this one the most famous. Print has some nearly invisible warping on the right edge and a 1" thick area of staining on the mid left-upper left section, unaffecting the Horsemen.NICE PRINT.
