Stunning and immaculate Steubenville ceramic plate with the group image of the 1948 Notre Dame football team along with the names of all the players. Among the notables are College Football HOFers G Bill "Moose" Fischer (captain & Outland Trophy winner), C Jerry "Boomer" Groom, HB Emil Sitko, QB Bob Williams, E Jim Martin, and TE Leon Hart, as well as All-American G Marty Wendel and the first-string QB from 1946-48, Frank Tripucka. Image of team posed in the grandstand and the surrounding names comprises the base of the plate and is 6.5" in diameter, which is sepia toned and set off from the snow-white corona ringed by a gold border. Entire plate is 10.25" in diameter and amazingly EX-MT with a precious few tiny chips visible on the gold border and minor loss of the white ceramic coating at spots along the outer edge. Secured by a spring holder with 4 hooks.
