Lot 1321: New York Mets Black Face Bobbing Head
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Extremely tough -- some say nearly impossible -- to find ethnic version of the Mets' bobbing head doll first issued in the team's inaugural season of 1962. The 6 1/2" tall doll, with the player in a Mets uniform and cap bearing African-American skin color is so scarce today because of its marketing only to black fans. Consequently, there are very few in this one's enviable NRMT-MT condition. Doll is 100% percent original with no restoration whatsoever and paint near 100%. Underside of the green base has the 1962 Made in Japan stamp. An amazin' find.
