ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
Full ticket (separated but nicely rejoined in a frame from Game 4 of the 1927 World Series, played at Yankee Stadium on October 8th -- the climax of the fabled season of baseball's "best team ever." Having lost the 7th game at home the previous fall, they weren't fooling around this time, not letting the Pirates hang around longer than necessary. With the Yanks up 3 games to none, Wilcy Moore closed out the sweep with a 4-3 win backed by (what else?) a Babe Ruth homer. Blue-purple reserved lower grandstand ducats (price: $5) are set side by side, 1 reading "Yankee Stadium, World's Championship Games, 1927," and cut into a charcoal and red board under glass in a 9 x 13" wood frame.
