ITEM DESCRIPTION
|
||||||||||||
Louisville boxing legend Jimmy Ellis wore this boxing robe for a fight during the 1960s. A Boxing Hall of Famer, Ellis won the Heavyweight title in 1968 and reigned as World Champion until he was defeated in 1970 by Joe Frazier. On the inside back collar is a manufacturer's tag with the size "46" on it. On the left breast is a shield shaped yellow patch with "Jimmy Ellis" in script and a horse head (representing Ellis' home town of Louisville) embroidered in black. The light blue and white rayon robe and white belt shows good use. Comes with a LOA from Jimmy Ellis.
