Lot 1258: 1970s New York Mets Game Used Bat Lot (5)
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
Dave Kingman's game-used Louisville Slugger is the big bopper in this set of bats used by Mets in the 1970s. The others belonged to Willie Montanez (with 8/10 autograph in green marker), John Stearns (9/10 autograph in ballpoint), Ron Hodges and Buzz Capra. All have their personalized brands, and all are Louisville Sluggers except Montanez's Adirondack, which is "flame treated," just in case he was tempted to use it for kindling. The bats bear plenty of diamond-done dents and scratches, and Hodges' looks as if it were dipped in pine tar like fondue. Let's go Mets!
