Henderson used this Sam Bat KB1 -- a Gary Matthews Chicago Cubs personal model -- in 2001 when, with the Padres at age 42, he moved closer to the 3,000 hit plateau. He immortalized the bat with the inscription, "Rickey Henderson Hit 2963" in silver marker on the barrel to the right of the gold "bat" logo, grading 8/10. "24" written in black marker on knob and hollowed-out barrelhead, which also has original notations by Matthews, including "G.M." Lots of use with an area of the black exterior rubbed off the handle. Say what you want about Rickey, but the man's an all-timer, and his bats are highly collectibe.
