Government postcard mailed from Chicago to Baltimore and postmarked Aug. 3, 1929, has quality signatures of 9 of that season’s pennant-winning Cubs on the reverse, most notably manager Joe McCarthy and Hack Wilson. Both HOF signatures -- the latter as "Lewis ‘Hack’ Wilson" –- are in black ink and grade superb 9/10s. Others include Charlie Grimm, Fred Blake, Fred Blake, Pat Malone, Jimmie Burke, Woody English, Grover Land, Norman McMillan (pencil), and Charley Root (who surrendered Babe Ruth’s "Called Shot" in the ’32 WS). All signatures NRMT. "Chicago Cubs Baseball Team, 1929" is handwritten above the sigs. 3 x 5" postcard is VG-EX with only real damage being some glue stains on the posted side. Signature side is display-perfect.
