Lot 1963: J.P. Parise New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey

New York Islanders dureen tie fronts are as rare as the games they won in the early to mid-1970's. Along the way, the Isles acquired a fiesty little forward named J.P. Parise from the Minnesota North Stars. A winger who played twice his size, J.P was so fearless in the corners it earned him the captain's "C". No Ranger fan can forget his goal 11 seconds into overtime that eliminated them from the playoffs in '75. This Islander's blue 1975-76 Rawlings is so hammered that the sleeves look like they were mauled by a pit bull. There was a crest change that was common on these sweaters. The "C" was later removed with the silhouette still clearly visible. This jersey is one rare blasted reminder of the roughhouse NHL Eastern Conference when the opponents were named the "Big Bad Bruins" and "The Broad Street Bullies".
