Lot 1969: 1976-77 Al Hamilton Game Worn Edmonton Oilers Jersey

The Edmonton Oilers' logo was faded to a comfy denim blue and sunkist orange, but the man who wore it will not be forgotten by Edmonton Oilers fans. No, Al Hamilton didn't play in the NHL glory years, but he was the franchise's most consistent player in its WHA infancy. Hamilton, a former New York Ranger, wore this during the Oilers' fifth WHA season. The cut and bruised jersey shows he was pretty busy during that brief stint. The magenta "Hamilton" on the nameplate looks odd, but in a few years nobody would be able to criticize anything about the Oilers or their uniforms. Hamilton wore No. 3 (one of only four numbers retired by the team). You can call him Al.
