Lot 1970: 1974-75 Denis Herron Game Worn Kansas City Scouts Jersey

Let's call this a puck-assaulted jersey, instead of a game-used one. Because that's what happens to jerseys of goalies who play for first-year teams. Denis Herron's No. 1 Wilson Size 48 knit for the 1975-76 Kansas City Scouts of the NHL is remarkably intact. Sure, there are stains of icky origin (the kind we love!) and strained seams from stretching to block shots, but it has retained its original aesthetic beauty. The red, blue and yellow stripe scheme and single-feathered Indian scout logo are certainly becoming, even when you're being trounced on a nightly basis. Although his record was 4-13-4 in the debut season, Herron's goals-against average was a decent 3.75 under the circumstances. He became the regular goalie the next season and his average bumped up to 4.03. Long live the Scouts -- in our hearts and in your collection.
