We were always puzzled by the lower-case "n" with the hockey stick extension on the Quebec Nordiques' jersey. It looked part-elephant, part igloo. J.C. Tremblay made it work, though. His presence as a Montreal Canadiens veteran in the fledgling WHA gave it validity, and his red captain's C on this game-worn '73-74 jersey gave the Nordiques a leader. As the reigning WHA defenseman of the year, Tremblay guided Quebec to its first winning record. His red, white and blue Maska knit jersey feels like a winner, too. The "3's" on the arms and back show thread stress and a few cuts on the garment are sewn up, the most prominent suture being on the left shoulder. You should remember "3." It was retired by the Nordiques.
