Lot 1992: Barry Legge WHA Game Used Cleveland Crusaders Jersey

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $1,000.00
Winning Bid: $1,189.75
Price Realized: $1,421.75
Auction Date:6/26/2005 9:00 PM EST

While the purple swallows up puck smudges and stick stains, the Cleveland Crusaders' predominantly white jersey picks up all of the good gunk -- and you still get the fabulous jousting-knight logo. This game-worn 1975-76 Rawlings 48 belonged to No. 6 Barry Legge, a mullet-wearing defenseman who was acquired midseason. The purple, individually sewn letters on the reverse spell "B. Legge" to distinguish him from his teammate, Randy Legge (no relation). Even though Legge helped Cleveland reach the playoffs, these Crusaders could save neither Christendom nor themselves -- they were off to Minnesota the next season.
