Lot 2002: Ray Clearwater Minnesota Fighting Saints Game Worn Jersey
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Original Minnesota Fighting Saints jersey worn by defenseman Ray Clearwater - briefly, anyway. Clearwater played just 2 games during the WHA team’s short-lived 1976-77 season, when they folded after 32 games - an instant replay of the year before when a different version of the Saints also quit in mid-season. Hockey historians know that the second edition of the team wore red and yellow, while the first edition wore blue and yellow. Jersey has the team’s weird logo -- a maniacal little boy with wings and a hockey stick - across the chest, "Clearwater" on verso, and "3" on back and both sleeves. White and yellow trim. "Rawlings [size] 48" label in collar with sewn-in "Steichens Sports Equipment" label. Light but evident use on this rare WHA jersey.
