Let's start with the logo on Randy Rota's game-used 1974-75 Kansas City Scouts jersey. It's got a blue and white embroidered horse with an Indian scout aboard who looks more like a medieval jousting knight. It has a yellow embroidered KC next to it. And it's fabulous, so un-hockey like yet such a wonderful vestige of this short-lived NHL franchise, whom Rota joined for its maiden season. The white circular background is frayed a little because of numerous washings. Rota was busy that season. In by far his most productive stint in the league, the left wing had 15 goals and 18 assists in 80 games. And he looked good. Double-knit poly is a snazzy mix of yellow, blue and red stripes and bars on blue. It has the Wilson 48 tag on the collar. His white silk "25" is sewn on the back and on the sleeves. The Scouts left for Colorado after the next season, but they left behind a sharp uniform.
