The opening of Muehlebach Field was a real event in Kansas City, as can be seen by this classy and significant dedication program from the new ballpark's first event, a July 3, 1923 AA game between the K.C. Blues and Milwaukee Brewers. It was just the start of a long and rich history in which the park, which was also home of the K.C. Monarchs and thus bore witness to Satchel Paige and Jackie Robinson's Negro league exploits.
