Lot 1252: Circa 1968 Norm Cash Game Used Bat (35")
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
This masher was carried to home plate in '68 by Norm Cash, the unsung first baseman who was a vital cog in the Tiger's title that season -- hitting .385 in the comeback WS victory over the Red Sox. Though Cash, who died in 1986, played 2nd fiddle to Al Kaline, and his batting crown in '61 overshadowed by Roger Maris, his contributions are highly cherished by Tiger buffs. Adirondack Personal Model "Big Stick" has light use with scattered markings and a light pine tar residue on the handle. Bat was obtained right from Cash years ago by former Tigers teammate Jack Warden.
