Lot 1268: Vladimir Guerrero Game Used Bat (35")

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $200.00
Winning Bid: $327.18
Price Realized: $390.98
Auction Date:6/26/2005 9:00 PM EST

Vlad was the 2nd famous slugger to use a Rideau Crusher, after that thorny fella by the Bay. The maplewood used in the Canadian bats allegedly makes balls go further, and to judge by the numbers racked up with it by Guerrero in the early 2000s while still with the Expos, the hype is well founded. This cherry red-and chocolate brown Crusher he used back then had its usefulness nipped by a crack in the middle right on the "bat" trademark. Also a wealth of ball, resin and cleat marks. Handwritten in the hollowed out end is "27", "35, 32.9 oz." and "8-17-01" and "VG".
