Lot 93: Rolling Stones "Steel Wheels" Gold Record
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Gold record for "Steel Wheel" the Stones' '89 album that stopped the band from becoming "adrift on the ocean," as the LP's biggest hit, "Mixed Emotions", goes. Tossing aside schlock and going back to gritty blues rock meant the boys weren't quite ready for Geritol just yet, if in fact they'll ever be. Gold disk, with an inner label with the tongue and lips logo in red, white and blue, is mounted against a black backdrop with a plaque reading "Presented to Keith Richards" beside the album jacket, the RIAA plaque, a gold cassette (remember them?) and gold CD. Framed display is 17 x 21" and NRMT.
